ABOUT US

CHAMPS CMMS Division develops, markets, and implements CMMS and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) solutions. These solutions are designed to manage work, reduce equipment downtime, optimize parts inventory, reduce maintenance expenses, and improve purchasing efficiencies. Implementation of CHAMPS solutions results in measurable productivity gains and reduced operating costs.

CHAMPS users have demonstrated that even a small reduction in maintenance costs lead directly to bottom-line profits. While this is a major factor in justifying implementation of CHAMPS solutions, there are several other benefits that plant operations and maintenance groups derive from CHAMPS CMMS:

1. Life Cycle Management: CHAMPS applications provide ideal tools for the life cycle management of a plant's systems and components. Life cycle management focuses on maintenance, which encompasses a wide range of plant activities geared to preventing failures of important safety equipment, as well as repairing or replacing worn equipment.

2. Repair/Replace Decisions: By analyzing the information gathered in the CHAMPS applications pertaining to repair and maintenance activities, plant operators and maintenance engineers can determine to refurbish or replace the equipment before it fails. When the operation of an important component degrades or fails, the application enables the engineers to perform detailed root-cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.

3. License Extension: Life cycle management allows industries such as power utilities to manage aging effects on the majority of nuclear power plant components throughout a plant's operating life. Nuclear power plants are licensed for an initial 40-year term. Licensees can apply to renew an operating license for an additional 20 years. Implementation of CHAMPS applications enable nuclear power plants to demonstrate how critical equipment and components have been maintained and managed. These plants are likely to meet Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requirements for license renewal without major refurbishment, resulting in enormous savings to the utility companies.

4. Regulatory Compliance: CHAMPS applications facilitate dissemination of information to various regulatory agencies such as FDA, OSHA and NRC to demonstrate that the organizations are in compliance of the regulatory requirements.

5. Facilitate NRC Inspections: The NRC collects, analyzes and distributes pertinent information regarding the maintenance of plant safety equipment. CHAMPS applications are vital tools in providing repair and maintenance histories for NRC inspections, as well as for constant monitoring by resident NRC inspectors.
