CHAMPS Software has been working with the U.S. Department of Energy since
January 2003 on one of this country’s largest environmental cleanup
projects. CHAMPS has partnered with Bechtel National, Inc. along with
prime subcontractor Washington Group International both of whom have been
chosen by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of River Protection
to design, build and commission a radioactive waste treatment plant on
a 65-acre site.
The Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Company operates one of the largest railroad networks in North America, with 33,500 route miles covering 28 states and two Canadian provinces. This vast network covers the western two-thirds of the United States, stretching from major Pacific Northwest and Southern California ports to the Midwest, Southeast and Southwest, and from the Gulf of Mexico to Canada. BNSF was created on September 22, 1995, from the merger of Burlington Northern Inc. (parent company of Burlington Northern Railroad) and Santa Fe Pacific Corporation (parent company of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway). The company employs more than 44,500 people. Revenues are generated primarily from the transportation of coal, grain, intermodal containers and trailers, chemicals, metals and minerals, forest products, automobiles and consumer goods. City Electric of Tallahassee The city of Tallahassee's Electric company serves approximately 90,000 Tallahassee households and businesses with electric power. The system covers a 221-square mile territory and utilizes over 170 miles of transmission lines. The system's total generating capacity of 512 megawatts is adequate to meet Tallahassee's present peak electric demand, and future expansion is planned to assure that Tallahassee's electric system keeps pace with the community's growth. The City of Tallahassee uses CHAMPS CMMS at three locations in Florida:
The Fairfax County Water Authority is the largest water utility in Virginia,
providing drinking water to 1.2 million people. The Authority will continue
meeting the challenges of the future by building a new state-of-the-art
treatment plant capable of meeting the needs of their customers and the
most stringent water quality regulations. With treatment facilities located
at opposite ends of Fairfax County, treated water is distributed through
a network of over 2,800 miles of interconnected water mains. To ensure
the highest level of water quality, these mains are cleared annually through
an aggressive hydrant-flushing program.
Heinz Pet Products H.J. Heinz Company is one of the world's leading food processors and purveyors of nutritional services. Heinz Pet Products is the second largest producer of pet food in the United States; pet food sales are well over $1 billion. Heinz Pet Products uses CHAMPS CMMS at their Pet Food Manufacturing Plant
in Topeka, KS.
What started as a town designed to support the world’s first modern Chocolate Factory has become an exciting entertainment experience; Hershey Pennsylvania. In 1907 Milton Hershey, the chocolate philanthropist, founded the
Hershey Park picnic and pleasure grounds. Over 100 years later HERSHEYPARK has
become a first class entertainment facility, with over 60 rides and attractions
including 10 roller coasters.
PolyOne Corporation was created by the merger of M. A. Hanna Co. and Geon Co. on September 1, 2000. The combined companies form the world's largest compounder and distributor of polymers. Geon Co. was formed in 1993 when the Geon Vinyl Division of the BFGoodrich Company was established as a separate, stand alone company. As a part of BFGoodrich, Geon has been using CHAMPS since 1988. PolyOne currently utilizes CHAMPS CMMS at 13 sites with approximately 300
users.
The Port Authority of Jamaica (PAJ) is a Statutory Corporation established by the Port Authority Act (1972). It is the Government's principal maritime agency responsible for regulating and fostering development of Jamaica's ports and shipping industry. The Kingston Free Zone (KFZ), which was formerly factory space, caters to companies from all over the world and is in the process of developing an information technology park, as well as a commercial zone. The Montego Bay Free Zone (MBFZ) which was established twelve years ago is situated on a 95-acre site southwest of Montego Bay. It now boasts 333,400 sq.ft of factory and data entry space. The Port Authority of Jamaica uses CHAMPS CMMS at their Shipping Ports in
Kingston, Jamaica.
For More than 100 years Quaker Oats has been an icon in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Encompassing more than 45 acres and 1.9 million square feet under roof makes the Cedar Rapids Plant the largest Cereal mill in the world. Every day, more than 800 personnel across three shifts representing four
different unions produce ready-to-eat-oatmeal and grits as well as Aunt
Jemima syrup. The mill also makes grains to supply sister Quaker Oats
plants.
SCANA
The Virgil C. Summer nuclear power station occupies a site near Jenkinsville,
South Carolina. The Monticello reservoir provides cooling water and feeds
a pumped storage unit. The V.C. Summer station has one Westinghouse pressurized
water reactor.
University Hospital
University Hospital, a 384-bed acute, tertiary care facility, is part
of the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. University Hospital
was recently selected as one of the 100 top performing hospitals in the
United States, and ranked among the top ten academic centers in the nation.
University Hospital is the primary teaching hospital for the UNM School
of Medicine and is home of the highly regarded Children's Hospital of
New Mexico.
Westinghouse
Westinghouse designed, built and manages the Department of Energy's Waste
Isolations Pilot Plant (WIPP), a repository for transuranic radioactive
waste from the nation's commercial and defense nuclear programs. Transuranic
waste includes tools, plastic, laboratory clothing, rubber gloves and
other such items contaminated with man-made radioactive materials. The
transuranic waste is sent to WIPP in the Transuranic Packaging Transporter
(TRUPACT), a reusable shipping container certified by the Nuclear Regulatory
Commission.
