The city of Tallahassee's Electric company serves approximately 90,000 Tallahassee households and businesses with electric power. The system covers a 221-square mile territory and utilizes over 170 miles of transmission lines. The system's total generating capacity of 512 megawatts is adequate to meet Tallahassee's present peak electric demand, and future expansion is planned to assure that Tallahassee's electric system keeps pace with the community's growth.
