The Fairfax County Water Authority is the largest water utility in Virginia, providing drinking water to 1.2 million people. The Authority will continue meeting the challenges of the future by building a new state-of-the-art treatment plant capable ofmeeting the needs of their customers and the most stringent water quality regulations.With treatment facilities located
at opposite ends of Fairfax County, treated water is distributed through a network of over 2,800 miles of interconnected water mains.To ensure the highest level of water quality, these mains are cleared annually through an aggressive hydrant-flushing program.
